What is the difference between polyethylene wax and Fischer-Tropsch wax?

Fischer Tropsch wax is mainly composed of linear, saturated high-carbon alkanes with a relative molecular mass of 500-1000, which gives this chemical a fine crystal structure, high melting point, narrow melting point range, low oil Content, low penetration, low mobility, low melt viscosity, hardness, wear resistance and high stability. Compared with general-purpose polyethylene wax (PEW), Fischer-Tropsch wax has the following significant differences:

(1) Molecular weight: The molecular weight of Fischer-Tropsch wax is lower than that of PEW, and compared with PEW with complex branched chains, Fischer-Tropsch wax has no branched chains at all, has high crystallinity, and is easy to penetrate into high-viscosity macromolecular chains, which can significantly reduce the system. Melt viscosity, small migration during processing, obvious late lubricating effect, can significantly improve the gloss and smoothness of paint film in coating application.

(2) Fischer-Tropsch wax is a saturated straight-linked alkane, without double bonds, with strong anti-oxidation ability and good weather resistance.

(3) The viscosity of Fischer-Tropsch wax is much lower than that of PEW, and it can achieve the same lubricating effect as PEW in less amount in plastics. The usage is only 70-80% of PEW. Fischer-Tropsch wax has good compatibility with PVC, and can be used as internal and external lubricants. It can be used as a good internal lubricant to effectively control shear conditions, promote flow, control friction and melting properties, thereby improving thermal stability. At the same time, Fischer-Tropsch wax enables PVC products to obtain the best physical and processing properties due to its high crystallinity and high linearity structure.
